Evaluation Partnerships

Reboot Representation 

Our team began working with Reboot Representation in 2019 to document and understand the progress of its goals at the grantee, the portfolio, and the national level.  The goal of RR is to double the number of Black, Latinx, and Native women in the U.S. graduating with bachelor’s degrees in computing by 2025. CRS provides support around measures to systematically achieve this goal, including measurement and evaluation technical assistance to Reboot Representations’ grantees.

Annie E. Casey Foundation 

Our firm partnered with the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Atlanta Civic Site to conduct a Youth Housing Planning Study. The focused on housing and housing-related services for the City of Atlanta youth between the ages of 14 to 24 in order to review the current state of housing availability, access and conditions, particularly the impact on youth who are at risk for or experiencing homelessness or live within Neighborhood Planning Unit-V (NPU-V). Our Executive Vice President, Dr. Brooks-Tatum, served as an evaluation consultant assisting with evaluation priorities and other related needs across their portfolio.

Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) 

Creative Research Solutions worked with CSTE to conduct an economic evaluation assessing the long-term implementation costs of the use of 18 Substance Abuse and Mental Health indicators across the domains of Alcohol, Other Drugs, and Mental Health for state, territorial, local, and tribal surveillance.

Our team utilized statistical procedures, econometrics, and computer methods to develop an analysis that addressed each of the evaluation needs of the project. We will provide a detailed final report of outcomes that includes an executive summary, methods for each evaluation, results, and recommendations based upon the overall findings.

William T. Grant Foundation

CRS served as a consultant to the William T. Grant Foundation’s Scholars Program. In this role, our firm led a training workshop at the Foundation’s annual meeting titled “Managing Your Career Journey”, which focused on career development and the cultivation of strong mentoring relationships. In addition, our firm provided consultations to Grant Scholars on career development mentorship, wellness, and self-care.

High Demand Career Initiative

Creative Research Solutions (CRS) evaluated the High Demand Career Initiative-Metropolitan Atlanta (HDCI MA) that was launched by Governor Nathan Deal in 2014 with the goal of measuring its impact. HDCI seeks to integrate public and private workforce development. To support this goal, CRS is developing evaluation tools to understand perceptions of HDCI MA’s increased communication, connectivity, coordination, and collaboration. CRS gathered data from WorkSource Board members, sector leads, and employers to accomplish this. The results indicated the extent of change and what could be done better to foster and sustain change as the initiative continues.

Agnes Scott College

Creative Research Solutions completed data analysis for a diversity audit baseline study for Agnes Scott College. The purpose of this research was to understand student, staff, faculty, and alumnae perspectives and experiences with diversity and inclusion on campus. Transcripts from seven, 75-90 minute focus groups were analyzed, and the de-identified data were used to compile a report. Top-level administration at the college was given a confidential, separate appendix as an addendum. Additional data analysis and training will occur.

University System of Georgia, Board of Regents

Our firm, in partnership with Alvin Glymph, evaluated the 7-year, multi-partner, statewide College Access Challenge Grant, designed to increase degree attainment among adults with some college and among under-served, minority youth populations (including foster and homeless youth). This included primary and secondary data collection, data analysis, reporting, and conference presentation data. We assisted the USG Board of Regents with presenting key data that will allow for future and ongoing partnerships and financial support for this important educational intervention. This project included stakeholders and partners from K-12 education, post-secondary education, business, nonprofits, and government.

Technical College System of Georgia

We evaluated Accelerating Opportunity, a 3-year initiative that enabled participants to earn a GED and workforce certification in a dual-enrollment program at technical colleges throughout the state of Georgia. This multi-partner, cross-sector initiative enabled participants to gain jobs in high-demand fields such as welding, nursing, and early childhood education. Our evaluation methodology included interviews, focus groups, partnership analysis, statistical analysis, surveys, and Cost-Benefit Analysis. The evaluation illustrated that the project was successful in meeting its objectives (# of certifications and partnerships) and added immense value to the state of Georgia.

Morehouse School of Medicine

Creative Research Solutions supported a quantitative evaluation of the Morehouse School of Medicine’s U54 Neuroscience Enrichment Program.  CRS conducted and managed survey data collection and analysis, and worked with the qualitative evaluation team to generate annual reports to support the ongoing development of the program.

Emory University

Our firm is evaluating the outcomes of Emory University’s ongoing Research Experiences in Introductory Laboratories (REIL) Project.  This goal of the REIL project is to develop a faculty network supporting the use of authentic research experiences in the undergraduate Biology curriculum.

WINGS for Kids

Creative Research Solutions led an ongoing evaluation of programs and services offered by WINGS for Kids at three elementary schools in the Atlanta metropolitan area for this after-school, social-emotional learning (SEL) program. Our evaluation has helped WINGS measure its outcomes, identify challenges, and improve the quality of its services. Our work with WINGS includes utilizing an online data management system to collect and report participant data. Outcomes to date have illustrated key ways to maximize partnerships between institutions and WINGS, as well as further documenting the proven model of SEL-based programs in increasing academic performance.

DeKalb County Office of Youth Services

Creative Research Solutions evaluated six youth health, education and enrichment programs offered by DeKalb County using survey data.  Based on the results of the evaluation DeKalb County was able to identify new ways to strengthen its programs and support the communities it serves.

Refugee Resettlement and Immigration Services of Atlanta 

Creative Research Solutions assisted RRISA (now known as New American Pathways) in an evaluation of its programs on behalf of AmeriCorps.  This project involved analysis of existing data to assess the impact and reach of the program.

UNCF (United Negro College Fund)

Creative Research Solutions conducted an evaluation of the Institutional Advancement Program’s impact at one of UNCF’s client institutions.  Our evaluation involved a site visit to the institution with focus groups and interviews of students, faculty, staff, and alumni to assess how UNCF’s efforts had supported the institution as a whole and to provide recommendations to better support its future clients.

We completed a retrospective impact evaluation of the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up Campaign, an international girl-led social awareness and fundraising initiative. This evaluation covered its first 5 years of operation, which raised $7.2 million for UN programs with more than 2,000 global partners and affiliates from 2010 to 2015.  This data enabled Girl Up to improve its service offerings to its participants and to capture key data that demonstrated impact for scaling up and increased outreach.

Spelman College

Creative Research Solutions serves as the evaluation team for Spelman College’s First in the World Grant Project, funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

Project GRAD Atlanta

Creative Research Solutions performed analysis of student academic data and conducted site visits to the program at participating colleges to ensure Project GRAD had the necessary data to report its results to its funders and to the local school system.

American Friends Service Committee

Our firm completed an outcomes evaluation of the American Friends Service Committee’s Atlanta Economic Justice Program, measuring its local and statewide impacts from 2012 to 2015.

The HistoryMakers Museum

Creative Research Solutions partnered with Evergreene Research and Evaluation to conduct an evaluation of the HistoryMakers Museum’s ScienceMakers program.  Our work included site visits to several science centers across the United States to observe program activities and conduct surveys of program participants.

Central Georgia Technical College

Creative Research Solutions has worked with CGTC in support of the institution’s ongoing development.  CRS conducted an analysis of institutional data in support of CGTC’s Quality Enhancement Plan as part of its standard accreditation requirements.  A second project involved conducting focus groups at the institution to assess faculty, staff, and student perceptions of equity and diversity at the institution.

Wesleyan University

This ongoing evaluation project measures the outcomes of project-based learning courses and curriculum across several disciplines and campuses.

Griffin & Strong

We are a data and research partner for Griffin and Strong, a law and public policy consulting firm in Atlanta, GA. Our work with them consists of supporting disparity studies at the city, state and regional levels, providing survey development for large sample sizes and disaggregated data analysis.

EducoSoft

Our firm is assisting with testing a curriculum platform and intervention in order to potentially meet What Works Clearinghouse standards.

TandemEd

TandemEd offers community-centered capacity-building services that focus on race and equity. Through place-based mobilizing strategies, TandemEd works with anchor organizations to bolster community-centered leadership, using media outlets and marketing strategies to generate positive perceptions of people of color. Creative Research Solutions and TandemEd aims to understand the impact of its community partnerships and media campaign. Creative Research Solutions is working with TandemED to collect, aggregate and analyze qualitative and quantitative data about its campaigns in Detroit, Newark, and New Orleans.

ProGeorgia: Women of Color Initiative

ProGeorgia aims to promote equity and justice throughout Georgia by promoting leaders that are responsive to the needs of women of color (WOC). Through ProGeorgia’s Women of Color initiative, the organizations seek to understand the priority interests of women of color throughout Georgia to create women of color issue agenda. Creative Research Solutions assisted ProGeorgia with disseminating and analyzing the results of a statewide survey to women of color to learn more about the issues and challenges that they and their families face, as well as their perspectives on the issues that the larger community, society, and nation face. Our team also trained facilitators and notetakers for listening sessions (public group discussions of women of color) conducted throughout the state.

City of Jackson: Ready to Learn

Ready to Learn seeks to create a quality early childhood infrastructure to support the broader goals of improved kindergarten readiness scores, success with passing the third-grade gate, and ultimately, increasing the number of high school graduates in Jackson, Mississippi. The infrastructure of quality pre-kindergarten services is intended to provide a foundation that will guarantee that all preschoolers entering kindergarten are prepared to learn. Creative Research Solutions conducted pilot interviews and completed qualitative and quantitative data analysis and reporting to assist Ready to Learn to create a strong foundation for their partnerships.

Facilitation

United Way of Greater Atlanta

We provide facilitation services and thought partnership for the United Way of Greater Atlanta’s Child Well-Being Index.  Evaluation and measurement capacity-building training are held for partners and grantees and are designed to facilitate the process of creating a common measurement framework to move the needle on child well-being for children, families, and communities in the Greater Atlanta Area.  For this project, our firm works in partnership with Glymph and Associates.

Valencia College

Our firm served as Co-Facilitators for Valencia College’s Executive Leadership Retreat (West Campus).  The retreat was designed to identify shared and distinctive measurements of success for the College’s five-year Campus-Wide B.I.G. Plan.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consulting

Krupp Family Foundation

We serve as the learning and evaluation partner for the Krupp Family Foundation, providing grantee evaluation capacity building. We provided internal evaluation services for the KFF, which included a survey, background document review, and a final report. Our ongoing services include an evaluation and measurement retreat and organizational development and evaluation technical assistance to grantees.

Diversity and Inclusion in Atlanta

Creative Research Solutions, in partnership with Sage North America, served as the research and reporting lead for a groundbreaking diversity and inclusion study focused on the City of Atlanta.  The report holds considerable city-wide implications and opportunities for partnership and growth that Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms is considering along with the City’s Deputy Chief Equity Officer, Reese McCranie. For this study, CRS had an opportunity to interface with the City of Atlanta’s leadership as well as senior executives in the business, corporate, educational, and nonprofit sectors throughout the city. Shelectricity

Our firm served as Project Director for an international STEAM, leadership, and career-focused curriculum development project.  This project focused on middle school girls of color.

University of Virginia

Our firm has served as an ADVANCE consultant at the University of Virginia, supporting faculty search committees in their efforts to eliminate bias and increase the number of women and minority faculty in STEM fields.

South Big Data Hub, Georgia Tech

Creative Research Solutions assisted the South Big Data Hub in research and reporting on their regional and national initiatives promoting collaborating in Data Science.  We provided an infographic and report for this National Science Foundation-funded project.

National Center for Women and Information Technology 

Our firm serves as an Extension Services Consultant with NCWIT to help colleges and universities identify and evaluate strategies to recruit and retain more undergraduate women in Computer Science and related majors.
